A wet day here is not a lost one. Most of this is indoors and most of it is walkable.
On the seafront
- The Grand Pier. The whole pavilion is under cover - arcade, go-karts, soft play, the lot. Two hours disappear.
- The Tropicana, if something is on. The programme changes completely month to month, so check first.
In town
- Weston Museum. Free, open Tuesday to Saturday, and the seaside gallery is worth an hour on its own. There is a cafe.
- The theatres. Between the Playhouse, the Blakehay and the smaller rooms there is usually something on in the evening.
- The high street and the indoor market, which is more interesting than it looks from the outside.
Worth the drive
- The Helicopter Museum, ten minutes out of town - the largest dedicated helicopter collection in the world, over eighty of them in one hangar.
- Cheddar Gorge, about twenty-five minutes. The caves do not care what the weather is doing.
- Wookey Hole, a little further, and aimed squarely at children.
Or stay in
Every apartment has a Smart TV, fast WiFi and a kitchen. Studio Two and Apartment Four have balconies you can stand on with a coffee and watch the weather come across the Channel, which is its own kind of day out.
